Jo's books

Attached are photos of the three books I have made so far in my journal books for fabric artists class taught by Sue Bleiweiss in a Yahoo Group. I have learned so much and now all I want to do is make books. I bought a Huskystar machine felter (or embellisher) rather than go to QSDS this year. I will take a class about that starting in May.
I'll try to add the inside of the books next: Ooops! They are now first and i don't know how to change that. The last three photos are the covers. The first three are the inside of the front cover.

Cheryl's book

I have finished Cheryl's book page 2 and will send it on to Diane tomorrow. I learned how to do grommets and eyelets in my bookmaking class and another thingy that I can't remember the name of (old age). Cheryl, I hope your friend's child is better. I thought about it as I was working.

After putting the glue on to hold everything together, I weight it with "The Handbook of Attachment"!!!! I thought that was appropriate!!! LOL

Betsy's Page in Jo's book

Here's the piece I did for Jo's book. I loved the shape of the page and the openings in the pages!
My page had two openings, so I made similar openings in the piece; when there's not white paper behind the page, you can see through to Diane's page! (Her first one!)
This is a variation on another mushroom quilt I did, and is much darker in real life than it appears here, though I did darken the photo some. I wish it was this bright in real life! There are beads & buttons, scrapbooking words and some trims and yarns I've accumulated, as well as some stitched sheer fabric in the background. I attached it to the background page using some industrial glue my husband bought for attaching insulating foam under the hood of his car. I decided if it was good enough for the Ferrari, it was good enough for my quilt. That baby is on there! Hope the rest of the book still opens, Jean!

Diane's Page in Lynda's Book

Diane's page in Lynda's book is so cool! I scanned it in. You can just see the zipper edging on the right.
I find it very peaceful and spiritual! In the upper right hand corner is a tile! Very cool!

I've done my page in Lynda's book, too, and am sending it on its way!

Cheryl's Book

Hello all. I contacted Cheryl about posting the finished pages of her book. She wants to be surprised, so please don't post her pages. As for me, I don't have to be surprised...so post away.
Have a great fiber day!

Cheryl's altered book

Cheryl's altered book arrived today from Lynda. Lynda, do you want me to put a photo of your page on the blog?

Ebb and Flow

My darling husband showed me how to add the photo of Pat's completed page!
The background is handmade paper decorated, painted and embellished with seed beads (like bubbles). A mini quilt has machine embroidered birds and the organza has "Ebb and Flow" printed. String and fishing line have a tiny brass fish and shiny disks on one as well as a cork and wooden beads on the other.
Water images are very powerful to me. It can take on any form. Liquid, solid or vapor. In the Spring, water rushes, spills, swirls then pools. Constantly moving. I was thinking about Pat and her life one year later.

Ellen's Book

I am sending Ellen's book on to Lynda today. I put a post-it on the front identifying it as Ellen's. I also signed my page. Take a look. My photo is not the best, but I hope you get the gist of it. I had a ball. C
